Why does Apple always displays the time as 9:41 in all there Ads?

Did you Notice that Apple advertisements always displaying 9:41 on the lockscreen. Let's talk about the reason behind this statement because there is solid reason behind this fact.

Even the most minute of details in an Apple product has a solid reason behind it. Something that was
inculcated deep in the veins of the company by none other than Steve Jobs. There has to be a reason behind everything. Everything, including the time displayed on the device in all of their advertisements.

You might think that there can't be a logical reason behind this but you'll be surprised to know that this particular time, in fact, is a moment seized from one of the historic keynote presentations given by Steve Jobs. The tradition of iPhone and iPad commercials showing 9:41 AM started during the 2007 Macworld Conference & Expo, when Jobs was going to announce the official launch of the iPhone in a keynote presentation.

While rehearsing for the presentation, Jobs had calculated that the slide of the newly launched iPhone was going to appear on screen at around 9:41 AM. Acting in advance, to show the real time, he instructed his advertising team to prepare it with the device showing 9:41 AM.

The reason for this can be traced back to the birth of the iPhone. A revolutionary product that had tech enthusiasts skip a heartbeat at its launch. Although they show the time as 9:41 AM now, it really used to be 9:42 AM for a reason that's rather obvious once you know about it.

You could spot it on various commercials, print ads or even the Apple website. Because 9:42 was the time in the morning when Jobs released the first iPhone for the world to see. Known for his punctuality, it was around the 42nd minute of his keynote speech that Jobs said, "Today Apple is going to reinvent the phone." And a picture of the very first iPhone with the time, 9:42 AM popped up behind him on the screen.

Things, however, changed in 2010 during the launch of the first iPad, when the iPad displayed a different time, 9:41 AM. A time that has been now set for all their devices, even iMacs and Macbooks. According to former iOS chief Scott Forstall, the reason for this is pretty straightforward. "We design the keynotes so that the big reveal of the product happens around 40 minutes into the presentation," said Forstall while divulging the secret to Australia-based app developer Jon Manning of Secret Lab. "When the big image of the product appears on screen, we want the time shown to be close to the actual time on the audience's watches. But we know we won't hit 40 minutes exactly," he added.
